Community Plan Updates SFY 2023
Iowa law requires that every ECI area create a community plan. The community plan is a living, breathing document that guides the work of the local Early Childhood Iowa Area (ECIA) board and community.
An effective plan identifies community assets, common needs and gaps in services. It also guides planning and decision making, addresses sustainability, and helps set priorities in the community.
Early Childhood Iowa Areas Boards are to track progress toward achieving results and long-term goals. This includes measurable accountability of the success of services, products, and activities (programs) supported by the board. Results accountability requires a shift from looking only at program processes but to also, most importantly, looking at the impact programs make on young children and their families.
